A few days ago I had my files and whatever on the first partition of my thumb drive, and Tiny Core on the second. That would boot just fine when I chose to boot from the drive. I decided to use knoppix instead, so I formatted the second partition and tried using dd to get the image on, but the partition wasn't readable after.
Tried again simply extracting the ISO and dragging the files and it looks like it should boot, but it won't.The 2 folders that stick out and make me think it's supposed to be booting are BOOT and boot. The BOOT folder has a boot-noemulation.img and the boot folder has an isolinux folder, which should be the boatloader, allowing it to boot.This is on Knoppix 7.2.0 DVD (not CD or bootonly). The knoppix partition is the only one marked bootable on the drive, and t didn't get confused last night when I booted to Tiny Core (which used extlinux).Does anyone know what the problem could be? When I try to boot from it, it says 'no operating system' then quickly boots the next drive in line. Extracting files from the ISO and placing them on a thumb drive doesn't make the thumb drive bootable, sarge:)The reason dd didn't work is that a Knoppix disc isn't a hybrid ISO (but you can make one from it).
