This live concert was divided into two parts: the first acoustic folk, the second part being electric folk in a style then known as Celtic rock. The evening is a musical tour around the Celtic fringe, from Brittany northwards. It was broadcast live on one of the three radio stations in France (seven million listeners live on Radio Europe 1) Alan Stivell was accompanied by Dan Ar Braz on guitar. Dec 13, 2012 Tri Yann is a French band from Nantes (Breton: Naoned), who play folk rock music drawing on traditional Breton folk ballads. The band was founded in 1970 by Jean Chocun, Jean-Paul Corbineau and Jean-Louis Jossic – all of whom remain members – hence the suggested name of Tri Yann an Naoned (Breton for 'Three Johns of Nantes'), Jean and Yann. Glary Utilities is free system utilities to clean and repair registry, defrag disk, remove junk files, fix PC errors, protect privacy, and provides more solutions to other PC problems.
The band's third album, Welcome to Dun Vegas, was a lot less celtic at times, with bagpipes absent in a few of the songs, and the overall genre was alternative rock, returning to that of Mellowosity. The opening track (' Wacko King Hako'), however, seems to be a mix of both alternative rock and dance music, both of whom the band previously used. The band used a brand new type of celtic fusion for Croftwork. The new vibe matched reggae, electronic dance music, alternative rock, but most importantly brass roots, with saxophones appearing in many of its songs. What Men Deserve to Lose appeared to be quite similar to Croftwork, with the brass roots returning, but with more alternative rock audible towards the end of the album.

The Langer's Ball 'Auld Lang Syne/A Christmas Lullaby'Release date: 1st December 2012Running time: 6:40, 2 tracksAfter having issued one of the best albums of the year, The Langer’s Ball have decided to release a 2 track single for the Holiday Season. The two songs on this Christmas single are “ Auld Lang Syne” and “ Christmas Lullaby”.Both tracks are really awesome.
The Scottish song can rival with The Real McKenzies’ rendition and Shane’s classic Christmas song gets a stunning ska treatment. The rhythm section shines out on both tracks.
Michael and Hannah, the original duo, have found the best band mates for their musical voyage! The single is available at CDbaby, so you can go there, purchase the mp3s and sing-along the whole day. “Hello” - particularly to those of you who haven’t heard from me for sometime. This is my first newsletter for some considerable time.
It’s been a funny old year for me with major health issues and various personal matters taking up my time, which has held back the progress of my musical career and led to a dearth of important news for me to impart. I also thought I had ‘lost’ a large part of my email address files but these have now been retrieved.
Anyway, I digress! Things are finally moving on apace again and I have lots of news. To compensate for my recent lack of correspondence, I am offering everyone on my email list the opportunity to exclusively access two FREE downloads of recently recorded tracks – just click on the link and then click the download button (the downward facing arrow icon). The first of these, ‘ Last Christmas at Lennel House’ which I recently wrote and recorded for a Charity Christmas CD, is of particular relevence at this time of year and is based on my own personal experiences at Lennel House Care Home near Coldstream in the Scottish Borders. A review of the album had this to say about my song: 'We defy your jaw not to drop at the dark brilliance of 'Christmas at Lennel House' written and performed by song-poet Gary Miller (yes, the Gary Miller of The Whisky Priests).
Miller's bouncing tune belies the wickedly sharp lyrics that manifest the Ghost of Christmas Future. It's unarguably the most brutally honest Christmas song you'll ever hear.' (Anyone wishing to obtain a hard CD copy of the full album can order it from. The Whisky Priests Full Circle EP is available in digital (£2), CD (£4), T-shirt (£8) and CD + T-shirt bundle (£10) formats - all prices include p&p worldwide.Full Circle was previously released on the Various Artists compilation ' A Full Head of Steam' (on Northern Sky Records in 2000).The EP also includes the rare remix version of ' Alice In Wonderland' (previously released on the Various Artists compilation album ' Seka 'Sister' (on Twah! Records in 1998), plus 3 previously unreleased tracks from a live acoustic radio session recorded at Radio Sieben in Ravensburg on 31st October 1998.Full Circle is taken from the forthcoming ' Best of' The Whisky Priests, due for release in 2013 on Whippet Records.THE WHISKY PRIESTS – ‘BEST OF’ FOR 2013:YOUR CHANCE TO GET INVOLVED IN SELECTING THE TRACK LISTING!:Glenn and me are starting to compile a limited edition Whisky Priests ' Best of' / 'Anthology' CD for 2013. Some of the tracks are a given, e.g.
' Dol-Li-A' ('cos of its popularity, even though we both hate it LOL!) ' Full Circle' (last band recording / first time on an official Whisky Priests CD / one of our best ever tracks IMHO, etc). We have a pretty good idea of which tracks might make the final cut but we are also taking suggestions - please get in touch with any of your own personal choices and claim personal ownership of the track listing!' MAD MARTINS'My 1st of 2 new albums due in 2013:I am looking forward to entering the recording studio in January 2013 to record the first of what I hope will be two new Gary Miller albums for 2013.This first of these two albums is ' Mad Martins' - a series of songs I began writing 10 years ago about the 'infamous' Martin Brothers of Tynedale for a project originally conceived by my friend and regular collaborator Keith Armstrong. The album is being recorded by my very good friend and regular recent collaborator Iain Petrie. I have been carrying many of these songs in my head for the last 10 years so it will be great to finally 'get them out there' and 'lay them to rest' before I commence on my next album 'proper' of all new songs for autumn 2013.I will be announcing further information about Pledge / Crowd Funding opportunities for these projects soon.‘A RICH SEAM’ - MARIE LITTLE VERSION 2012This year, acclaimed folksinger Marie Little recorded a fantastic version of my song ‘ A Rich Seam’ for her wonderful album ‘ Hot Flushes To Bus Passes’. The full album is a real treat and can be ordered direct from Marie’s website at. (From the band's mailing list)Dear Friends,In January a new Firkin EP is to be released, which is the forerunner of a live LP album.

The O'Reillys & The Paddyhats 'Sound of Narrow Streets' Self-releasedRelease date: September 2012Running time: 37:56, 11 tracksRemark: This is not a split album.
The O’Reillys and The Paddyhats are ONE band, not two bands. There is a short tale on the booklet explaining how an acoustic band from Dublin and a punk band from NYC met and then The O’Reillys and The Paddyhats was born.In fact, the current six piece band comes from a Celtic duo called The O’Reilly Brothers: Dwight O’Reilly (vocals, banjo, accordion and acoustic guitar) and Sean O’Reilly (vocals, acoustic guitar and whistles). This outfit had a similar evolution to that of The Langer’s Ball and fiddle, electric guitar, bass and drums were added to the band. Then, they decided to change the name.“ Sound of Narrow Streets” consists of 10 self-penned songs with a live atmosphere. There are no traditional covers, but all the lyrics deal with Irish themes. Probably the best track is “ The Shamrock Thief”, a fantastic number on which accordion and fiddle shine. The self-titled track is also a highlight, another catchy track with accordion and fiddle.
“ Jolly Rogers Crew” is a pirate number featuring banjo and electric arrangements, and a “tribute” to Flogging Molly. “ Draught in the Pub” and “ Life of a Working Man” are other interesting tracks featuring banjo and fiddle.Regarding the tracklist order, IMHO “ Paddyhats” should be the opening track and “ Killorglin Town”, the slowest number on the album, should be the last track. I feel that then the album “flow” would be improved. It’s not easy to find a place in the German Celtic punk scene, since it's full of bands with a strong identity, like Mr. Irish Bastard, Fiddler’s Green, The Porters or Auld Corn Brigade. Anyway, The O’Reillys and The Paddyhats are sharing their space with bands such as In Search of A Rose and The Ceili Family. If they are able to improve some arrangements and create a distinctive own sound, the rewards will arrive soon.Tracklist:01 - Intro02 - Bloody “Marrion Row”03 - Prison Cell04 - No Money for the Pub05 - The Shamrock Thief06 - Draught in the Pub07 - Jolly Roger’s Crew08 - Life of a Working Man09 - Killorglin10 - Good Old Times11 - PaddyhatsContact the band to purchase the CD:Review by Kinksmarkham.
I guess that other interesting EPs have been released in 2012 or at the end of 2011. Unfortunately, I have not been able to evaluate them, since no promo copy was submitted:-(1 Black Tartan Clan 'Standing Strong'2 Celkilt 'Hey! What's Under Your Kilt!' The Killigans 'Another Round for the Strong of Heart' Speed A-6000Release date: October 26, 2012Running time: 34:48, 10 tracks“Do I belong to some ancient race/I like to walk on ancient places/These are things that I can understand/I don’t belong in your mother ways/Don’t care about the things you say/Your policies have failed the test of time/’cause you sold them down the river-o” ( Levellers “ Sell Out”)Why have I chosen those lyrics by the Levellers if I’m writing about The Killigans?
First of all, I have always found some similarity between Mark Chadwick’s vocals and Brad Hoffman’s vocals. Secondly, I feel that the best songs on “ Another Round for the Strong of Heart” have this sort of a melancholy. Then, are The Killigans mellowing? Yes (lyrically) and no (sound). The sound of my fave songs has the usual Killigans stamp: great vocals backed by superb mandolin and accordion. IMHO the best track on the album is clearly “ Empty Streets”, both musically and lyrically.
The second best would be the track that closes the album, “ Take Me Back”. I love particularly those keyboards and that “ Bonzo Goes to Bitburg” inspired passage. “ Hey Sergio!” is another catchy number and “ From the Underground” is a perfect So Cal punk song.A quieter mood can be found on “ Salt of the Earth” (The most Levelleresque song on the album) and the short instrumental “ Ghosts of our Fathers”.A new album by The Killigans is always excellent news. When one listens carefully to the album, the influence of The Killigans on new bands like Hoist the Colors becomes obvious. However, “ Another Round for the Strong of Heart” is not their best album to date.
A good album, but not an essential one. Anyway, an album that is worth buying.Tracklist:01. Hit the Deck 3:5302.

The original search addon for RapidWeaver. First developed back in 2007, RapidSearch is the easiest way of adding a convenient Google custom search to any RapidWeaver website big or small. No techie stuff like PHP, MySQL databases or complicated software installs are required. No ugly iFrames or messy code to ruin your website appearance. No monthly or yearly subscription fees. Just everything you need in a single drag-and-drop stack, for not much more than the cost of a coffee, or three.Simply register a new custom search with Google (the easy-to-follow instructions are shown below), drop a RapidSearch stack into your page, fill-in the required details and publish. Seriously, that's all there is to do!RapidSearch uses the full power of the Google search engine.
Each time Google indexes your website, it updates the search results automatically. So this is very-much a search solution you can setup once and forget about.Unlike some other search plugins for RapidWeaver, RapidSearch works over your entire website; including blogs, e-commerce pages, file downloads and albums. You can configure RapidSearch to search up-to 5 separate websites or subdomains from within the same stack. RapidSearch provides safe search filters for both web and image searches. Anything you've password protected will remain strictly hidden.RapidSearch is responsive and works in all major web browsers and devices. Plus you can be assured of this stack working reliably in all popular RapidWeaver themes and with different frameworks like Twitter Bootstrap, Zurb Foundation and UIKit.
Backed by fast and friendly support direct from the developer. System requirementsThe RapidSearch stack requires the following system requirements:. An Intel Mac running RapidWeaver 6 or later from Realmac Software. Stacks 3.0 or later from YourHead Software. A modern, HTML5 mobile responsive RapidWeaver theme (recommended). A Google account, for generating a CSE ID codeWe generously provide a FREE demo version of RapidSearch which you may download using the button above. This demo can be installed onto your computer, so you can fully explore all the options provided and ensure the stack meets your requirements.
The free demo version is fully functioning; with the exception that automatic updates are disabled, a credit is displayed below the stack and the stack fades out of view after 60 seconds. If you decide to purchase RapidSearch, you will get emailed a download link to an unlocked version of the stack; and any settings or content you've created with the demo will be preserved upon installing the paid version. ExampleYou can see a working example of RapidSearch below. The shadow effect is created using the from Stacks4Stacks. Setup instructionsRapidSearch relies on Google for search results, so with this in mind it is wise to configure things at the Google end first. Don't worry, it is quite simple to do if you follow the steps exactly in the order shown and get the important bits of information correct.
Start by and going to the Google CSE website (CSE stands for 'custom search engine'). You may get prompted to signup or login to your Google account.Click on the Add button to start the process of creating a new custom search engine for RapidSearch to use. Google wants some basic information from you; like the website address to search, the language and what you want to name the search engine (for future reference). Don't worry about any of the Advanced Options, as RapidSearch will configure anything further that it requires. Click the Create button, when you've given Google this basic information about your new search engine. All going well, you should now see a 'congratulations' screen, informing you that the custom search engine was successfully setup and is ready. Before you close this window, please click the Public URL button. This contains an important segment of information we need for RapidSearch.Take a close look at the web browser address bar (in Safari you may need to go Safari Preferences Advanced and check the Show full website address option).
You should see in the browser address bar?cx= followed by a long string of letters and numbers (pictured below). Once you've found this ID code, copy it carefully to your clipboard or a plain text file. You'll need this ID code in RapidSearch. Then you can close this browser window.
If you ever need to get the code again, just login to your Google CSE account and click the Public URL button again. To install RapidSearch in RapidWeaver, download the.zip file. If you computer does not automatically unpack the file for you, double-click the.zip file to expand it. You should see a file named RapidSearch.stack with a yellow lego brick icon. Double-click this icon or drag and drop it onto the RapidWeaver icon in your dock. You should see a message to say the stack was installed. You would probably want to create a new Stacks page in your RapidWeaver project specifically to host the RapidSearch stack on. So add a new stacks page to your project.
It is wise to open the RapidWeaver Page Inspector and give this new page a sensible folder name of something like 'search'. The file name of index.html can be left as it is; if you have tidied links enabled in RapidWeaver.Open the Stacks Library and search for RapidSearch. Drag and drop a copy of the stack into your webpage. Keep the stack selected in edit mode and open the settings for this stack. Straight away in the RapidSearch settings, you should see the box for your custom search ID (the code to extracted out of the web browser address bar earlier).
So enter this carefully in the box (take care not to include spaces or any other characters). You can go-ahead and change any of the other RapidSearch stack settings. Most of the settings should be self-explanatory. If you mouseover the settings, you will see an information tooltip about what each one does.
RapidSearch does work to some degree inside RapidWeaver preview, but as it often the case, it is best to get a page published to a live web server online to make sure everything is working as expected. And this is about all there is towards setting up RapidSearch! As you can hopefully see, it's relatively easy to do; and undoubtedly that's the reason this stack has always been so popular. The important bit to get right is the CSE code from Google, and once you have that then things should work as expected.
If you do have any further questions about the capabilities of RapidSearch or how to get it working, feel free to, and we'll be happy to assist. Our also covers a number of topics.Optimizing your website for SEO (search engine optimization)RapidSearch uses Google search results. Therefore it is of paramount importance your website is already performing well in Google search results or you have the correct pieces in place to ensure your new website will do well on Google in future. The best way to ensure Google reliably indexes your website on a regular basis is to setup a free account, if you've not done so already. Here you can directly feed Google a copy of your sitemap.xml file that RapidWeaver automatically generates. This file updates every time something changes on your website (you might have seen it briefly listed in the progress window when publishing a website). The sitemap.xml file is stored in the root directory of your website, so if your website address is then the sitemap.xml file will be at at all times.
Google will check your sitemap.xml file every couple of hours. If it sees something has changed, it will send-along a search bot to analyze the page in closer detail and readjust that part of its search index. It's all very clever stuff! As always, the more optimized your website is, the faster these changes will show in RapidSearch. An excellent free article on RapidWeaver SEO was published on the and worked really well for thousands of people. More recently, Realmac Software have put together about SEO. We can also be hired to perform audits of your website SEO and make suggestions of simple and safe changes you can implement to better your SEO score. Please if this is something you are interested in knowing more about.System requirementsThis stack requires by Realmac Software and the plugin by Yourhead Software.
It will not work with other publishing platforms (like Wordpress). We recommend you aim towards installing the latest version of RapidWeaver that your computer is capable of running (preferably RapidWeaver 7 or greater) and Stacks 3 or later. If you cannot get the free demo version of this stack to work, DO NOT proceed with purchasing this stack - please request technical assistance first.PricingPrices shown on the website exclude any applicable VAT.
