Bbc iplayer downloads I have enjoyed downloading programs to bbc iplayer until recently (2 weeks ago this started). After exhausting all avenues of help via bbc website i still haven't managed to solve the problem, can anyone help me please?
I've had problems with iPlayer not working in Windows 10 since the upgrade. My issue has been with the iPlayer Download app - I've lost all my saved programmes, which of course have now been deleted from iPlayer. They're still there in the local iPlayerdownload folder, but if you try to play them (eg in Windows Media player) it won't work, presumably due to DRM.I've trawled the forums for answers and found all the really unhelpful replies that Microsoft is spewing out (clearly they don't get iPlayer in Redmond, so don't give a stuff). But now I've found a workaround (or to be more accurate, my son has)!. Open the download app. Use file explorer to navigate to your download folder - mine in on a shared drive (which admittedly probably doesn't help). Simply click on the relevant media file and drag it into the app.
Your programme starts to play - simples!Hope this helps someone else out. Same here - no help from the BBC (as usual). They simply say they 'cannot support Windows 10' at this time. What is in Windows 10 that stops BBC iPlayer from working? It worked perfectly in Windows 8.1!!!!!!!! Keep getting a message that reads 'You'llneed a new app to open this bbc-ipd'. Managed to find a way to put this app on (using Firefox - won't work in any other browser), but only worked for a single time.
Now it has returned to not being able to download anything. The app on Microsoft store is alsocompletely useless because, despite the description, it will not work on PC's (only tablets & mobiles it seems). Please can Microsoft & the BBC get their heads together & sort this issue out? It driving me mad!
